Project management
Proper project management ensures half of the success…
When system implementations fail, it is often the system that is blamed. Project management, however, is meant to manage a project in such a way that a failed Go Live is prevented by e.g. identifying and monitoring risks and taking corrective action before it is too late.
Byte Works has combined all of its almost twenty five years of experience in a methodology named Co-pilot, which stands for Controlled Project Implementation and Life-cycle Optimisation Tool. The figure below shows the step-by-step approach of Co-pilot:

Co-pilot step-by-step
Five separate project phases are distinguished, each with a clearly defined milestone:
Phase 1 – Prepare
This phase is meant to prepare everything related to the project and to ensure a smooth project start, e.g. project team, roles, scope, risks. Available information from the global scope or detailed scope document can be directly inserted. Milestone: project charter.
Phase 2 – Define
All processes within the project scope are defined in detail. Available information from the high level scope list or detailed scope document can be directly inserted. Milestone: business blueprint.
Phase 3 – Realise
Realisation of all defined business processes. Realisation details from the orientation or feasibility study can be directly implemented.
Phase 4 – Train
End user training and testing of the system environment. Milestone: trained users and cut-over plan.
Phase 5 – Go Live
Start up of the production environment. Milestone: project sign-off.
Co-pilot has proven itself in many projects as a perfect way to control project activities and measure the project status, resulting in an operational system environment that meets the end-user expectations. Part of our coaching services also includes this project methodology.
Byte Works can bring in project management experience for your IT projects according to the Co-pilot concept. A presentation can be arranged about the benefits for you, your organisation and -last but not least- your customers.
